I would and have recommended LKC Construction to family and friends without hesitation…this review is long overdue.

Many years ago I asked my friends for a recommendation for roof replacement so I made the call to LKC Construction. Craig Charpiat came to my home and I was immediately impressed with the time he took explaining what needed to be done. He was very patient with me, even provided addresses of previous replacements so I could actually see the color of the roof. The crew working at my home was outstanding, when they were done you would never know they were there…meticulous on their clean up.  Years later, storm damage to the side of my house. I called Craig and he immediately sent a crew over within hours to prevent further damage. Craig was there when I met with the claims adjuster which was greatly appreciated. Again, great crew and clean-up. 

My parents were told they needed a new roof.  I called Craig for a second opinion…no new roof needed.  He took photos of the roof and explained his findings.  I never question any advice given by Craig, I value and trust his knowledge, integrity and honesty.

Recently, my mother-in-law experienced storm damage. Craig has become so involved in this project I feel like he is part of the family. He takes the time to explain things in detail, always answers each question in a manner you can understand. I know he is busy but he always makes you feel like you are his only customer. This homeowner’s claim was a bit complicated and Craig’s expertise was invaluable as well as his willingness to put in the extra time needed to speak with representatives of the insurance company.  Again, I have yet to meet one member of Craig’s crew who was not outstanding…friendly, hard workers.

I don’t post reviews routinely unless I feel strongly that someone goes above and beyond. I have often relied upon Craig to provide recommendations for other contractors in the area because I know he has high standards. He is involved in every project, you can tell he takes pride in his work and reputation.  Thanks again Craig and crew, always good to know you are there when needed. A+++++

Excellent. The crew showed up on time, and they completed the roofing & insulation job in one day. The gutter job took only a few hours. The architectural shingles look great and should withstand any storm (some of the old lightweight three-tab shingles blew off in heavy winds). The insulation job was done at the same time as the roofing job which meant the insulation was installed through a temporary hole in the roof, so they didn’t even have to enter the house. We noticed the 2nd floor was cooler the first night and expect this will reduce our cooling and heating bills. The new seamless 6-inch gutters handle heavy rain unlike the older 4-inch gutters. They are also less prone to clogs by leaves, and the sturdy interior mounting brackets look clean and won’t pull out like the old gutter spikes. The initial meeting with LKC was easy: we told them about the roof an other problems, they discussed options, made recommendations, and gave us time to think it over. There was no nonsense about “offer good tonight only” like some of the other contractors. Once we made our selections, LKC presented a very reasonable price and schedule. LKC also provided an extensive information packet about the shingles warranty. LKC has an excellent reputation in the neighborhood. They stayed in touch with us throughout the job and were always available when we called to ask questions. My only regret is that I didn’t have this work done a few years earlier.

The original builder-installed roof on my home had been damaged by multiple storms and high winds. LKC was able to provide me and my wife with a very detailed written estimate that laid out exactly what materials would be used and the exact prices for each item including the cost of any additional plywood if any of my existing plywood were found to be also damaged. LKC uses only the highest quality GAF architectural roofing shingles with a 50 year warranty and a much higher wind rating that what my home’s builder originally used. These heavy-duty shingles won’t come off even in a hurricane. John, LKC’s project manager, came to my house and helped us to pick a color scheme that worked very nicely with the color of our siding. LKC delivered the new roofing materials exactly when they promised. The LKC delivery truck placed the materials directly onto my roof with a crane so nothing blocked my driveway. One day later LKC had a full installation crew show up early in the morning and they did the entire roof replacement within that same day. Instead of placing a dumpster in my driveway, LKC had a stake truck parked directly underneath where the crew was working to catch all of the old roofing materials and take them away. Installing a roof is a dirty job, and I expected to find some loose materials left over in my driveway, deck or lawn. I was very pleasantly surprised to find not a single nail, screw or piece of roof tile anywhere on my property afterwards. I swept every inch on my driveway and found absolutely no debris. It was like magic, the new roof looked wonderful and there was nothing I needed to clean up. We have some pretty heavy winds and storms in this area and the new roof is holding up wonderfully. Craig and his crew sealed up the flashing around my chimney and all of the various vents that protrude through my roof. I went up into the crawlspace under the new roof with a flashlight and it’s dry as a bone in there. Craig, the owner of LKC, personally delivered the certificate of completion to me and helped me to better understand the procedures of my insurance company so I could be fully reimbursed for the new roof. After the job was complete, John e-mailed me a set of close-up photos that he took on the roof showing the details of all the flashing they installed and the seals around the chimney and each vent. LKC did a great job at an excellent price with top quality materials. I highly recommend that you consider LKC Construction for any of your future roofing repairs or home improvement projects.

LKC remodeled our backyard patio two-years ago. We were happy with their work so when we decided to re-model our townhouse kitchen, we asked them for a proposal. LKC’s proposal suggested that they would be good project managers, had creative ideas for designing a kitchen, and would be reasonably priced. After we decided to work with LKC, Craig and the foreman for the project, Milton, came back for a second consultation and walked us through some design options and materials. They helped us think about a few different design options and why they would (or wouldn’t) work for us. Next, Craig worked with us to create a timeline for the project that was realistic and fit our work schedules and met the date for we wanted the project to be completed by.

Once the work started, the project stayed right on schedule. Milton and his crew always came on scheduled days and Milton was available to give updates and answer any questions. LKC also did a good job containing the construction mess to the kitchen and dining room areas and immediately removing as much debris as possible. Craig stopped by often to oversee the project. He also was available via phone or email (or preferred method since we both work) to answer any questions on a daily basis. Once the construction was complete, Craig stopped by to chat with us about the final product and verify that everything was done to our satisfaction.

We are very happy with the end result of the kitchen remodel. We doubled our storage space, have beautiful cabinets and granite countertops, and added a granite-top desk, large pantry cabinet, and glass-door cabinet to an area that was completely unused before the remodel. LKC also installed hardwood floors for the entire level. Our kitchen went from being the least used to most used room in the house. Thanks, Craig, Milton, and the crew!

Recently we had our siding and shutters replaced by LKC Construction. During the initial consultation, we decided we would also like to add a portico. Craig was extremely helpful with his input for the portico since we were not sure exactly what we wanted. He gave us some addresses of other residences where his company had constructed porticos and we were able to look at them to help us with our decisions. Our neighbors love what we have done with the house, especially the addition of the portico and the use of vinyl cedar shake siding to accentuate the upper part of the house. The entire project was painless for us. LKC Construction did the project quickly, efficiently and the workmanship is excellent. The crew was polite and cleaned up the mess daily. Craig called us often to let us know what construction would be taking place and when. He came by to check the progress and when the project was completed, he walked with us to inspect the work. I would recommend LKC Construction to anyone with home improvements in mind.

LKC Construction Corp. just finished a variety of home improvements for us, including construction of a new custom screened porch, roof replacement, replacement windows and enlarging of two other picture windows. All came out beautifully! Craig Charpiat(owner) and the rest of the LKC Construction crew seem to really care about each job and attend to the many details involved with these projects. Craig spent many hours helping us plan our projects and answer the questions we had. During the construction process, Craig was present at the site each day and is involved with all on site decisions. We just wanted to thank LKC construction and Craig for the excellent deck and screened in porch the just finished. We initially met with several contractors and felt most comfortable with Craig. He was very helpful all the way throughout the design process until completion. The deck and porch look amazing. We continue to receive tons of great comments about how great the deck and porch look. Craig and the crew were very polite and professional from start to finish. I found them to be extremely dependable. They showed up on time and got the job done, even though the job coincided with a nasty, snowy weather week. Care was taken to protect the other areas of my house with drop cloths, plastic sheeting, etc., and they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. LKC Construction built a new screened-in porch for the back of my house. I, initially, met with the owner (Craig) to discuss ideas about the porch. Craig gave several suggestions that I hadn’t thought of and that were essential. He is able to visualize a project and bring that visualization into reality, as the finished project looked exactly like the drawing he provided. He is also very willing to work with the homeowner as far as changes are concerned. The price of the project was reasonable and the workmanship was excellent. We just wanted to drop you a line and extend a sincere thanks for a job well done. Re-designing a set of spiral stairs leading up to our children’s playroom was challenging to say the least. Add in that the fact of limited space and unknowns that come with a 35 year old house and it made it even that much more difficult. With all that said, things could not have gone smoother. From start to finish your crew worked diligently and informed us of concerns every step of the way. We appreciate the fact that you were readily available to answer questions and review the progress. LKC Construction just completed several improvements to the home we bought about 6 months ago as our eventual retirement home. We started the work with another contractor we had used before and wished we had met up with Craig before they started because it took them several weeks and several workarounds to finish what should have been a 2-week job. Craig replaced our roof, completely remodeled our front portico, kitchen and two baths, and painted the main level of the house, for thousands less than the other contractor had quoted, and all within the span of about 2 months. Our home is our most valuable possession.

When it was time to make changes to the exterior (replacing old shingles, roof repair, painting, etc) we started asking around about contractors. What we heard were horror stories; the contractor didn’t show up, they did sloppy work, it took too long, the job was never completed properly, they never cleaned up, they were expensive. The stories just went on and on.

We began shopping around and started to understand the horror stories.

We would contact a contractor and some would take days to return our call. Some calls were never returned. We would make an appointment and they would be late or never show up.

One day we saw and add for LKC Construction and decided to call.

We made an appointment and Craig Charpiat, the owner, came out to meet with us.

Craig surveyed the premises, offered some initial ideas and said he would bring color charts and samples over the next day. The next morning I had the color charts and samples.

Within two days we had the estimate. I almost fainted when I saw the cost; not because it was high but because it was so unbelievably reasonable.

The following week LKC started working on our house.

LKC’s workers were very polite and neat.

The work was completed in less than two weeks.

They took all the old shingles away and other debris. There was not a scrap left on my property.

Since the work was completed we’ve had people come to a dead stop in front of our house and ask for information so they could contact LKC. We have had nothing but compliments on our home.

We would definitely recommend LKC Construction to anyone who is interested in having remodeling or repairs done to their home whether exterior or interior.

Craig Chapiat loves his work, you can see it in his face and you can hear it in his voice.

I just want to say that LKC Construction has been a breath of fresh air. I have not had the best of luck when dealing with contractors but the employees of LKC Construction were always on time, very professional and built a fantastic deck. From the very beginning, Craig took us step by step through the building process and together we came up with a deck that fit our home perfectly…and at a very reasonable price I might add.
